Sri Lanka Air Force has been grated with the Air Operator Certificate from the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka and will operate under its established name ” Helitours (Private) Limited”.
Helitours which started its operations in 1972 was a brain child of the first Sri Lanka Air Force Commander the late Air Chief Marshal P H Mendis, and was briefly out of operations owing to the Operator certification.
The Certificate was handed over to the Chief Executive Officer of Helitours Air Vice Marshal Prassanna Payoa by the Director General of the Civil Aviation Captain Themiya Abeyawickrama at the authority premises today.
