Suwanji Madanayake’s 7 wickets haul guides Emerging Colombo Masters to a comfortable win.

Suwanji Madanayake capturing 7 wickets for 8 runs in 5 3 overs including a maiden helped Emerging Colombo Masters to a comfortable 88 runs win over Meegoda Cricket Club in a 45 overs game,  played at the Dharmapala College ground,  Pannipitiya , Kottawa recently. 

Emerging Colombo Masters led by Suwanji Madanayake,  winning the toss and electing to bat , openers Marlon Fernando and Prabath Jayawardena,  the pair together got to a solid start by putting up a 51 runs partnership and Suwanji Madanayake coming after the fall of 

Prabath Jayawardena added 47 runs for the 2nd wicket and a well compiled 50 runs  from Pujitha Gunawardena and useful contributions from Dulip and Amila Maduranga got them  to a reasonable score . The pick of the bowlers were Chamal and Chamara claiming 2 wickets each. 

Meegada Cricket Club chasing this total were reeling at 4 down for 57 runs at one stage with Suwanji Madanayake capturing the 3 of the 4 top order batsman and also claiming the wickets of the 6th, 8th, 9th and the last batter got them all out for less than 100 runs. The only batsman to reach double figures were,  Chamara , Lahiru and Nilanga.
