Tourist arrivals cross 30,000 mark from Feb. 1 to 10

Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals crossed the 30,000 mark in the first 10 days of February.

The provisional data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) released on February 11, showed that the island nation welcomed a total of 31,343 tourists from February 01 to 10.

The arrival rate for the month of February brings the daily arrival average to 3,134.

Russia continues to lead as the largest tourist traffic generator for Sri Lanka, with 4,566 visitors from that country.

The UK takes over India’s position as the second largest, with 3,799 arrivals. India ranks the third, with 3,575 visitors.

The other key source markets include Germany, Ukraine, France, Poland and Kazakhstan.
