Sri Lanka will play Bangladesh in Kandy- Cricket Asia Cup

The Sri Lanka will play Bangladesh in their 1st 2023 Asia Cup match that will be played in Kandy tomorrow. This match is the first that is been played between the two teams after a lapse of over 1year. Taking a look at the probable Sri Lankian squad, we can see that Sri Lankans will have a tough time managing there injuries withing the squad as top runners like Wanidu Hasarange , Dusmantha Chameera and Lahiru Kumara, we understand is nursing injuries . These are key players for Sri Lanka given the home conditions with the spin and bunce we see in this part of the world, they are match winners for Sri Lanka and hence there is a good chance of the team coming out and performing will Infront of the home crowd., provided they are out of the injury zone.  

Some times injuries are setbacks with which teams at this level has got to manage and a positive mentality will help such teams to come out and play well during the tournament and given the conditions and form the team is in, the Lankan Lions have a good chance of winning the tournament. Having said that, other top teams in the likes of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh have shown good form and have shown in the resent past what they are capable of and therefore we could see good contests between them as well as the tournament progresses. From what we have seen in Sri Lanka when Afghanistan played, they have shown promise and would be a team too, to watch for during this Asia Cup.

As have been highlighted and predicted by some experts and past Sri Lankan Cricketers, lot will depend on the Sri Lankan Batters and if the batters can give the foundation that the team needs to be challenging the former Asia Cup Champs have a good chance of taking the trophy home.

The Sri Lanka selection committee has rested their trust with the skipper Dasun Shanaka to lead the team for a god tournament and all eyes will be on the boys when they take to the field tomorrow, where the cricket loving public is all set to witness an yet another great cricketing context in the hill capital of Sri Lanka.
