KOICA-AKOFE Donated Essential Medical Equipment and School Items in Ayagama and Thalawakelle

Colombo 13th June, 2023– KOICA the grant aid division of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea together with the Alumni Association of KOICA Fellows in Sri Lanka (AKOFE) held donation ceremonies at MOH Office; Ayagama, St. Coombs Dispensary and St. Coombs Maha Vidyalaya, Thalawakelle on 11th and 12th June, 2023.

AKOFE is an association which consists of alumni who have completed KOICA Fellowship Programmes in Korea to build capacity in their respective areas. To fulfill the KOICA’s vision “Leave no one behind”, AKOFE donated essential medical equipment to the MOH Office in Ayagama and Coombs Estate Dispensary along with the School equipment donation to the Coombs Maha Vidyalaya. The Donations were consisted of Medicines, Medical Equipment, Multimedia Projectors, Photocopy Machines, Sport Items, Student Vision Aids, Shoes and Stationaries etc. These equipment will be utilized to make a better and efficient environment in the respective organizations.

The events was grace with the presence of KOICA Deputy Country Director Mr. Kim YoungWhan, AKOFE Executive Committee Members, Respective in charge Officers from the three organizations; Dr. Mohotti, Dr. Wijeratne, Mr. N Thanjaraj and Dr. Kethaki and the staff members. In the ceremonies, in charge officers from the three organizations highly appreciated this donations expressing their gratitude to the KOICA and AKOFE for organizing this great donations for the vulnerable communities in the respective areas.
