Suwanji Madanayake’s five wickets haul guides Vintage CC to an easy win
Suwanji Madanayake with a fine bowling performance of 5 wickets for 15 runs in 5 overs helped Vintage CC to an easy 95 runs win over Police Veterans in their Masters 25 overs Cricket encounter played at the Police park, Bambalapitiya recently.
Vintage CC with many past test caps and taking first lease, made a comfortable score with Indika de Seram stroking a well compiled 60 runs and Saman Jayantha missing his half century by 3 runs,  where both of them retired to give others a chance and useful contributions from Upul Chandana , Suwanji Madanayake , Ruwn Pieris and also Pramodya Wiickramasinghe and Rangana Herath with 25 runs and 12 runs not out respectively kept the board ticking to see the side reaching the 200 plus mark till the end of innings.
Police Veterans who had the service of Ex- test cap , Ajantha Mendis playing for them and chasing this total  fell beyond  target which had 3 left arm bowlers such as Sanjeewa Weerakoon, Dinuk Hettiarachchi, Rangana Herath and also Pramodya Wickramasinghe, Upul Chandana and Suwanji Madanayake in the bowling department ,  but Suwanji Madanayake bowling a tidy line and length was pick of the bowlers among the rest capturing 5 scalps to give his side an easy win.
