Acting Defence Minister, Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, paid homage to the Mahanayaka and Anunayaka Theros of the Malwatu and Asgiri Chapters and received religious blessings on Monday evening (19).
Acting Defence Minister Tennakoon arriving at the Malwatu Maha Viharaya called on the Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake thero and engaged in a brief discussion. He inquired about the Nayake Thero’s well-being and also offered Atapirikara during the session.
Afterwards, the visiting high official arrived at the Asgiri Gedige Rajamaha Viharaya and also paid homage to the Anunayake Thero of the Asgiriya Chapter Most Ven. Wendaruve Sri Upali Thero.
Engaging in a brief conversation with the Nayake Thero, Minister Tennakoon inquired about his well-being and also offered Atapirikara.
The Mahanayaka and Anunayaka Theros of the both Malwatu and Asgiri Chapters invoked blessings on the Minister during his visits.
During his visit to Kandy, Minister Tennakoon also visited Sri Chandananda Buddhist College, Kandy. The visiting dignitary was warmly received by the Principal of the school Ven. Dr. Godagama Mangala Thero.
