Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Sri Lanka H.E. Khaled Nasser Sulaiman AlAmeri
paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Headquarters
Complex in Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte, today (12 Jan).
During the ensuing cordial discussion Gen. Gunaratne and Ambassador AlAmeri delved on ways
of enhancing defence cooperation between the two countries. The contributions of the large Sri
Lankan human resource presently employed in the UAE came under praise by the Emirati
Ambassador who said that their role in the development of his country is significant.
Gen. Gunaratne also extended seasonal wishes to the ambassador who is making his first visit to
the Ministry of Defence.
Signifying the occasion, the Defence Secretary and the UAE Ambassador exchanged mementos.
Military Liaison Officer Maj. Gen. Dinesh Nanayakkara, was also present at the meeting.
