To mark the 45th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Sri Lanka, the Korean Embassy presents to you a Cultural Festival encompassing the most awaited ‘Quiz on Korea and K-Pop World Festival.’ This event will take place on the 11th of June, at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium from 2.00 p.m. onwards.
The Quiz on Korea features 150 participants who will compete amongst each other to enter the final round of the competition. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Korea and the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), the final round of the ‘Quiz on Korea’ will be held at the KBS station in Seoul on September 4, 2022 with the finalists selected from worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden and deepen your knowledge about Korea and win exciting prizes.
The K-pop festival which will be held together with the Quiz on Korea provides a platform to exhibit the unique talents of Sri Lankans who have been selected under the categories of best K-pop dance and vocal performances. The best performances will be selected by a panel of judges including popular musicians Mr. Bathiya Jayakody, Mr. Santhush Weeraman and Ms. Umaria Sinhawansa together with famous choreographers Mr. Channa Wijewardena and Ms. Aseka Wijewardena. If a team from Sri Lanka is selected for semi-finals, they will have an opportunity to enter the final round in Korea with all expenses covered by Korea. The grand finale of the K-Pop World Festival will be held on 30th September 2022.
