President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has accepted the resignation of his brother Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister and it has been made to understand that a gazette notification to that effect has been issued by the Presidential Secretariat.
Mahinda Rahapaksa sent his resignation letter to the President yesterday after violent clashes erupted between pro-government and antigovernment protestors.
