Courtesy of David Warner’s 53 and Mitchell Marsh’s 77 not-out, the Aussies chase a target of 173 in 18.5 overs to take their maiden world cup title in the T 20 format. New Zealand drew first blood as Trent Boult dismissed Aaron Finch in the 3rd over. However, that did not matter to Mitchell Marsh as he hit a six of the 1st ball and 2 boundaries in two consecutive deliveries in the first over he faced to set the winning pace for the Australians. The duo Waner and Marsh continued their attack with a 50 run stand which saw the Australian total pushed to 82 for 1 wicket with 10 overs at hand. Wraner after a brilliant knack was cleaned up by by Trent Boult for  53 runs whilst Marsh smashed a 50 off 31 balls and recorded the fastest in a T20 WC final, to take Australia to 136/2 in 15 overs.
He together with the flashy Glenn Maxwell took Australia home with 1.1 overs to spare.
Australians were seen taking the gap between the Mid Onn and the Midwicket and hit most of their boundaries and Sixes in the said area , an area which was seen targeted by most batters of Australia in the chase. Had Williamson placed a field  off the cricketing books to cover the said area , one may have seen a different game as most runs were seen taken  in the said area which did not have any cover except the Mid Onn and the Deep midwicket. The pace and power in which the Australians were striking the ball, a  man to cover that area in-between could have made an impact in the chase which the Australians did with more than 7 balls still remaining and Mitchell Marsh (77*) and David Warner (53) helped Australia beat New Zealand by 8
The match scores :
New Zealand 172 for 4 wickets in  20 overs. Kane Williamson 85 (48) balls. Josh Hazlewood 3/16 (4 overs)
Australia chased down and made 174 for the loss of 2 wickets in 18.5 overs  to win the T 20 World Cup. Mitchell Marsh 77* (50) Trent Boult 2/18 (4 overs)
