New Zealand HC to SL calls on Army Chief, General Shavendra Silva

New Zealand’s first Resident High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Michael Appleton, called on Army Chief, General Shavendra Silva after delivering his credentials to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The two officials discussed bilateral relations, security, and training modules for the Tri-Forces. At the end of the discussion, General Silva handed over a memento to High Commissioner Appleton.

High Commissioner Appleton has been a career diplomat since 2005. He has a long association with South Asia, and looks forward to building New Zealand’s political, security, economic, sporting, and cultural links with the region.
