On the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, under the guidance of the Directorate of Information Technology, the No 1 Information Technology Wing at SLAF Base Ratmalana developed a COVID 19 Vaccination Information Tracker QR Code which is intended to be used for all vaccinated personnel of the SLAF.
The launching ceremony of the unique QR Code system was held today at the Air Force Headquarters Auditorium with the participation of the Commander of the Air Force, Chief of Staff, members of the Air Force Board of Management, Director Information Technology, Officers from the Directorate of Information Technology and the Project Team from the No 1 ITW at Ratmalana. With the distribution of this QR Code to all personnel of the SLAF who have been vaccinated, these personnel will be able to provide their employment information, vaccination information including the vaccination brand, dates of receiving 1st and 2nd doses.
The first copy of the QR code was presented to the Commander by Air Commodore Arosha Vithana, the Director Information Technology. Following the presentation, the Commander scanned his QR Code and his vaccination information was displayed. Following this presentation QR Codes were distributed to members of the Air Force Board of Management as well. The Commander also took time to speak a few words where he appreciated the tireless effort and dedication of member of the Directorate of Information Technology and the Project Team from the No 1 ITW who had made this project a reality within a very short time. The Commander also congratulated and appreciated the Project Team individually. This Project Team was led by the Commanding Officer of the No 1 ITW, Squadron Leader KDC Krishantha.
