With industries around the world challenged by a pandemic to maintain business continuity and longevity, it is an important and crucial time to recognize and celebrate the people who always challenge the impossible. In that light, Airtel Lanka hosted its first-ever Quarterly Employee Excellence Awards early April to celebrate the success and outstanding resilience of its team in Q3 FY2020.
Commencing the awards night, Airtel Lanka Managing Director/CEO, Ashish Chandra said, “It’s no secret that the past year has been fraught with challenge. Despite it all, I’m proud to say that Airtel rose to every challenge”.
“Over the last year, our users came to rely on our services and support to a greater extent than ever before, and this meant that we had to consistently deliver on an unprecedented scale. The remarkable performances of tonight’s winners and the entire team have been truly inspirational, and gives us great confidence to pursue growth, and keep delivering value in the months ahead,” he also said.
During the evening, accolades were presented to the telco’s best and brightest across 4 categories, while their colleagues and family attended the ceremony virtually. ‘Achievers Awards – Sales’, were presented to individuals and teams who made outstanding contributions to drive revenue growth.
‘Achievers Awards – Customer Centricity’, those who made innovative contributions towards significantly improving customer centricity and customer experience – whether through use of advanced analytics, new products/services or other capabilities.
Meanwhile, the ‘Achievers Awards – Functional’ category recognized exceptional performances by individuals who consistently excelled and demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of Airtel Lanka. This was followed by the presenting of ‘Long Service Awards’ in recognition of the loyal and committed effort of Airtel members who have been with the telco since inception.
Airtel Lanka continuously strives to create a competitive platform to empower its workforce with progressive growth. The Quarterly Employee Excellence Awards is not only the telco’s way of thanking the relentless efforts and commitment of its loyal employees, but is also a driver that ensures a motivated and competitive mindset among the entire workforce.
