In a Masters 35 overs Cricket encounter, Colombo Masters overcame Ambalangoda Masters by five wickets, which was played at Ambalangoda recently.
Many Cricket fans from Ambalangoda would have liked to witness many past Cricketers in action at this game after Sports coming to a halt for nearly one year due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
In an invitation from the Ambalangoda Masters, Colombo Masters,  President Mr.Mahes de Zoysa took interest in playing the game in Ambalagoda, made it note worthy further by   donating some Cricket Equipment to Dharmasoka College under 13 team. The said cricket equipment were accepted by their Coach Mr. Silva
Ambalangoda Masters batting first,  made a respectable total with P.Milton stroking a gallant 99 not out, just missing his century by one run and was well supported by R.M.Jayantha, S.Hewawasam, S.Mohan,P.Weerasinghe and S.Senanayake reaching double figures with Amal Karunaratne claiming 3 wickets and Chaminda Rajapaksa 2 wickets.
In the run chase, Ex Tamil Union Cricketer, Suranjith Dharmasena taking control of the bowlers, played a patient knock scoring 74 runs and  63 old Rohan Raj Perera, former Kingswoodian Cricketer of repute, and coming all the way from Dambulla to take part in this game showed his talents at this age,  stroked a fluent 54 runs and went back to the pavilion as retired hurt and contributions from Lasantha Perera, Palitha Liyanage, and Chaminda Rajapaksa who was on 24 not out  sealed the game with one over to spare. Chamara Silva and R.M.Jayantha was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets apiece.
