Narcotics Control Unit seizes drugs worth over Rs. 130 million

The Narcotics Control Unit of the Sri Lanka Customs has seized the largest stock of drugs seized in South Asia so far.

The consignment of drugs consisting of 18,000 narcotic pills has been imported from Belgium. The value of the drugs weighing 09 kilos is Rs. 13.5 million, according to the Sri Lanka Customs.

The drugs were found during an investigation carried out by the Sri Lanka Customs on several parcels received at the Central Mail Exchange.

At the same time, the Customs also found a consignment of narcotics which was to be smuggled through Sri Lanka.
