Surya Kumar Yadav is set to be appointed India’s new T20 captain for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
Yadav , meanwhile, has previously captained Mumbai in domestic cricket and recently led India to a 4-1 series win Over Australia, in the T20 series played last November .
The T20 is in Sri Lanka will be first assignment under new coach Gautam Gambhir , who takes over from Rahul Dravid after the T20 World Cup. It is also seen as the first step towards building for the next T20 World Cup which India is hosting in 2026.
