The International Military Sport Council (CISM) Day Run organized this year by the Sri Lanka
Air Force was held this morning (Feb 18) with the presence of Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal
Gunaratne at the Riffle Green Ground in Colombo.
Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapakse received the
Defence Secretary upon his arrival at the venue. This annual event was held with the participation of Chief of Defence Staff, Army and Navy Commanders, senior tri forces officers and a large number of military personnel including differently able war heroes. This is a milestone year for the International Military Sport Council (CISM) as reaches 75 years of existence after being founded on 18th February, 1948.
The CISM organizes various sporting events for members of the armed forces worldwide. It
brings together military personnel from member countries enabling to strengthen friendship and
camaraderie on the playing field.
