How to maximize the use of microorganism technology in agribusiness – what is microorganism technology, how can it be effectively implemented in farmland commercially along with its uses and benefits?
Sri Lanka Agripreneurs’ Forum (SLAF) is the premier agribusiness association in Sri Lankan representing growers, farmer organizations, agri value-addition enterprises, agri professionals & academics, agri scientists, local and global marketers of agri produce, providers of agri inputs, and local agri investors thereby serve as the pivotal body for all of the agribusiness communities in Sri Lanka.
At a time where Sri Lankan agripreneurs are venturing out to explore effective and modern ways of improving soil fertility, and effectively control pest and disease incidents in the absence of synthetic fertilizer and agrochemicals, we at SLAF have worked towards creating current and validated information freely available to fellow Agripreneurs.
SLAF is delighted to announce that we are inviting two South Korean scientists who are experts at developing and applying microorganism technology into modern-day farming as holistic solutions to speak to the Sri Lankan agribusiness community through a virtual forum.
Together with SLAF, Mr. Cho Jeong-Sub and Mr. Yim Tae-Bin from Ecobiznet Inc. will be hosting a webinar targeting Sri Lankan agribusiness to discuss the concept of microorganism technology, the applications of it and its commercial usage along with the benefits it presents.
Mr. Yim has done extensive applied research and commercial applications of food microorganisms, environmental microorganisms. His work emphasizes the efficient application of these and various other functional microorganisms across primary industries such as agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and related environments such as wastewater and odor management. He holds a Ph.D. in the department of Bioscience, Kangwon University, Chuncheon, Korea. He also holds a master’s in Biotechnology and Engineering, Inha University, Incheon, Korea – Effect of skim milk-alginate beads on the survival rate of Bifidobacterium.
Mr. Cho holds a Ph.D. degree in Biomaterials Engineering from Kangwon University, Chuncheon, Korea. He also holds a Master of Biotechnology & engineering, Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. On “effects of amino acids and dissolved oxygen concentration on Invertase expression in recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae”
Further, Mr. Cho and his organization are committed to ‘contributing to a clean environment and healthy lifestyles’ through extensive R&D and new business models.
Additionally, he develops microbial culture systems (seed, medium, fermenter) to enable customers to use various microorganisms required for primary industries (agriculture, livestock, aquaculture) and environmental fields more effectively and at a lower cost. According to Mr. Cho, the microbial culture system is sold under a brand called CellAct to export markets where it receives great praise.
The speakers of the planned webinar, Mr. Cho and Mr. Yim further confirm that the company Ecobiznet will combine the microbial culture systems with ICT technology to expand into smart agriculture/ smart farms/ smart aquaculture. They envision Ecobiznet to become a Global Effective Microbial Solution Provider.
