Today marks another important day for Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu and her team, as they take on South Africa — who themselves will be eager to secure another victory over the Sri Lankans.

“Definitely, the next match is very crucial for us because we need to win three matches. We’re focused on the next one, and I know we have to improve in a few areas before then. I just hope we can play without any rain interruptions,” Chamari said.

While the Sri Lankan skipper remains confident, overcoming South Africa will not be an easy task, given the consistency and form the Proteas have shown throughout the tournament.

If the rain stays away this evening, cricket fans in Colombo can look forward to an exciting, hard-fought encounter between two determined sides — with both teams expected to come out all guns blazing.
