2nd Test Match vs England- Sri Lankan Captain Danajaya De Silva ready for a better performance

During the pre match press conference held last afternoon at the Lords Cricket ground in England, Sri Lankan Captain Danajaya De Silva said that his team performed well under pressure and considering the pitch conditions in England it was tough to negotiate. Danajaya , when questioned about the differences of pitch conditions here in England and back in Sri Lanka said that there is a certainly a difference which had an effect but the players have to negotiate. It was also made to understand that Seri Lanka has not had that much time to get accustomed to the conditions in England before the test and however they would be looking at coming out with more confidence and showcase a better performance at Lords.

speaking at the brief the stand-in England Captain Ollie Pope said ” its good we are getting pushed and must give credit to Sri Lanka as they were impressive last week, especially the batters. Its a credit to them to come from behind and put a 200 runs chase for us at the end. I am sure they would be confident to face the test at Lords but if we can play our best cricket, we should be able to come out in the right side with a result again”

Sri Lankan Captain is optimistic in improving Sri Lankas world test championship position when they head to the home of Cricket at Lords today for the 2nd Test. Making some key changes t the side, Sri Lanka has recalled the attacking Pathum Nissanka and Lahiru Kumara in support of Asitha Fernando. Both bowlers having the capacity to generate over 145 km seed which would be very helpful given the English pitch conditions
