At the recent press conference held at Sri Lanka Cricket, answering a question by a journalist the newly appointed head coach of Sri Lanka Cricket Sanath Jayasuriya said ” I have 22 years experience with Sri Lanka cricket, so I can use that experience whilst coaching the Sri Lanka cricket team and I can give them my experience as a coach. What you said is correct and I don’t have coaching experience at this level but I have a lot of experience working with international coaches and coaching staff which I will use on the job and will given my time in the next couple of months “. This was what the former batting superstar who brought much honor to his country said when questioned about his experience as a Coach taking up the responsibility of the Sri Lankan Cricket team. Sri Lanka is on its way to build its team after going through a rough patch, not being able to live up to its expectations at the T 20 World cup held in USA.
