Wanindu Hasaranga Steps Down from Sri Lanka T20 Captaincy Ahead Of India Series

Sri Lanka men’s T20 Captain Wanidu hasaranga has decided to resign from the captaincy.

Hasaranga said it is in the best interest of Sri Lanka Cricket that he decided to relinquish the captaincy duties and remain in the side as a player. “Sri Lanka will always have my utmost best effort as a player , and I will support and stand by my team and leadership as always “ said Wanidu whilst tendering his resignation.

Hasaranga’s last responsibility as Sri Lanka skipper was in the T20 World Cup where the Sri Lanka was seen unable to move up to play the Super Eight round.

India will be in Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series which begins with the three T20Is which is scheduled to be played on July 26, 27 and 29 at the Pallekele International Stadium, followed by the 3 ODIs scheduled to be played in Colombo.
