Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) handed over a reward of US$ 30,000 to the national rugby team, which elevated to the top tier of the Asian Rugby circle by winning the Asia Rugby Division 1 Championship, which was played recently.
The handing over of the reward was done recently during a felicitation dinner hosted for the National Rugby Team by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, with the reward cheque being accepted by Sports Minister Harin Fernando.
The cash reward was handed over in the presence of K Mahesan, Secretary to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. ShemaL Fernando, Director General of the Department of Sports Development, and Group Captain Nalin de Silva, President of Sri Lanka Rugby.
