Ms. Lu Su-feng, a Taiwanese national, has arranged to credit an amount of US$ 3,025 (Rs. 913,688.55) to the Deegawapiya Trust Fund today (Apr 19).
She was impressed by witnessing the ongoing restoration works at Deegawapiya Stupa during her recent visit to Sri Lanka last March and subsequently made her donation.
Furthermore, she has expressed her willingness to contribute to the restoration works of the Deegawapiya sacred site in the future as well.
Deegawapiya, a place visited by Lord Buddha, is regarded as one of the sacred ancient religious sites among the sixteen places of worship of Buddhists.
The expedited restoration process, which commenced under Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne’s guidance, has witnessed significant progress. The process is funded by the ‘Deegawapiya Aruna Trust Fund’, which is generously supported by philanthropists.
Those who are eager to witness the former glory of Deegawapiya Stupa with their own eyes and to extend their generous support can obtain details through the Deegawapiya website, www.deegawapiya.lk, [email protected], or contact 011 2430860-78.
