Colombo 2nd May 2023– KOICA the grant aid division of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea together with the Alumni Association of KOICA Fellows in Sri Lanka (AKOFE) held a donation ceremony at Divisional Hospital Weligama in Matara District on 1st May 2023.
AKOFE is an association which consists of alumni who have completed KOICA Fellowship Programmes in Korea to build capacity in their respective areas. To fulfill the KOICA’s vision “Leave no one behind”, AKOFE donated essential medical equipment to the Weligama Divisional Hospital. This donation was consisted of Multi Parameter Patient Monitor, Hospital Cupboards and Pulse Oxy-Meter etc. These equipment will be utilized to make a better and efficient hospital environment.
The event was grace with the presence of AKOFE Executive Committee Members and the Hospital Management. In the ceremony, the District Medical Officer Dr. Pradeep Kumara and the Deputy Medical Officer Dr. M A Bandula Kumara highly appreciated this donation expressing their gratitude to the KOICA and AKOFE for organizing this great donation event amid the crisis situation in Sri Lanka. Further KOICA believes that this donation will be helpful to enhance the hospital capacity to manage the patients while increasing the efficiency.
