In a landmark agreement, the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL) recently declared leading poultry producing giant Crysbro as the official Strategic Partner for Sports Development.
The decision was made following the proactive contributions made by Crysbro towards empowering young and aspiring athletes to achieve their dreams and bring victory to the nation of Sri Lanka by winning in renowned international sporting events.
“I am very thankful to the Crysbro team for coming forward at a time when no one else came to support athletes, and through the NOCSL-CRYSBRO Next Champ programme, we were able to source over 20 extremely talented young athletes who are being supported in every aspect,” noted NOCSL Secretary General, Maxwell De Silva, while commenting on the declaration of Crysbro as the official strategic partner for sports development.
Crysbro’s ‘Next Champ’ programme so far has successfully paved the path towards supporting the aspirations of, and uplifting over 150 talented male and female youth athletes from Sri Lanka towards the international sports arena.
“With the consistent and world-class support we provide to the aspiring athletes under our Next Champ programme, we are expecting great performances at the upcoming international sport events. We are grateful for the opportunity provided by the NOCSL to be a strategic partner, as this gives us the ability to be further involved and inspire young players,” noted Crysbro Senior Marketing Manager Amores Sellar.
Crysbro and the NOCSL recently kicked off the ‘Next Olympic Hope’, an extension of the ‘Next Champ’ scholarship programme, to allow the public to support 20 young athletes selected from the NOCSL-CRYSBRO Next Champ programme, who have proven themselves through multiple wins in both the local and international arenas.
It was recently revealed that the company plans to extend the Next Olympic Hope programme, to continue to attract the support from Sri Lankans living within and outside the country, through well-deserved donations to support young and budding athletes via www.nextolympichope.com.
The scholarships cover the costs of nutrition, transportation, coaching fees, accommodation, clothing and sporting gear, and medical expenses necessary for the training, grooming and development of each selected athlete. Young athletes are also given access to a combination of high-value tools and world-class mentors, including foreign training exposures.
Crysbro Next Champ not only recognizes and rewards young sporting talent from all corners of the country, but also grooms budding athletes from multiple sporting disciplines with guidance from experts on aspects such as proper training methods and a suitable diet.
The project’s founding vision sought to bolster Crysbro’s already significant social contribution as a key pillar of the country’s rural economy, thus creating sporting opportunities and promoting the message of staying physically and mentally active.
