President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to seek second term

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday, July 19, indicated his desire to seek a second term.

Speaking to the heads and owners of print and electronic media at a meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat, the President was optimistic that he could achieve the targets and goals he had set for himself.

“I have time. Not only three more years. I have five additional five years,” the President said.

He said that he would give priority to saving the country from chemical fertilisers and promoting organic agriculture.

The President noted that the process of vaccinating in the Western Province would be completed very soon by inoculating all above 30 years of age.

He also said that he would promote the use of renewable energy including hydro, wind, and solar power.
