Ranjan Ramanayake, who is serving a four-year rigorous imprisonment at the Angunukolapalassa Prison, has been admitted to the Karapitiya hospital to undergo a surgery.
Prisons Spokesman, Chandana Ekanayake said that Ramanayake was admitted to the hospital on June 23 and still undergoing treatment at the hospital due to knee injury.
Earlier, Mr. Ranjan Ramanayake was brought to the Karapitiya Hospital for a medical examination.
He was admitted to in house treatment after the doctors confirmed that he had a knee injury.
The spokesman said that Mr. Ramanayake will have to stay in the hospital for several days for treatment under security.
