A proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Finance to allow consumers with the opportunity to purchase liquor online through supermarket chains, the Excise Department said.
Excise Spokesman, Kapila Kumarasinghe said requests have been pouring from various parties to allow buying liquor online from supermarkets.
He said the recommendations have already been submitted to the Ministry of Finance.
He also said conditional permission could be obtained from the Ministry.
