Court orders Swiss Embassy to hand over Francis’s phone, husband to the CID

The Criminal Investigation Department filed a motion before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today requesting court to issue an order directing the Swizz Embassy to handover the mobile phone of the Swizz Embassy employee Garliar Banistar Francis to the Criminal Investigation Department.

The Court also ordered the Swiss authorities to hand over Fransis’s husband to the CID.

The CID also requested court  to issue an order to the  Superintendent of the Welikada Prison  to allow the Criminal Investigation Department to record a statement from Garliar Banistar at the prison premises.

Having taken the request made by the CID, the Magistrate instructed the CID make their requests on December 30.

The Swiss Embassy employee Garliar Barister Francis, who made allegations that she had been abducted and assaulted by a group of men, was further remanded until December 30.
