The 5th Annual TPT Hockey Carnival Organized by the Old Boys of S. Thomas’, St. Peter’s & Trinity College will be hosted by St. Peters’ College, Colombo on the 28th September 2019 at St Peters’ College grounds, Colombo commencing from 8.00am onwards.

The past stickers of Trinity, St. Peter’s and S.Thomas’ colleges have put their shoulders together to organize a Seven-a-Side hockey tournament. All three schools have played game for decades and have produced many who have donned Sri Lanka jersey.

The TPT hockey carnival is organized for the wellbeing of hockey as a sport and to maintain and strengthen ties between our three schools. Plans are afoot to have this as an annual event as hosted by one of the organizing schools.  St Peters’ College, Colombo will be hosting the carnival this year. The inaugural tournament was hosted by S.Thomas’ college in September 2015.

The event will be a reunion of past hockey players and also a get-together, we the old boys will go down memory lane. Food, beverage, recreational stalls & kiddies bouncers for families and children of the old boys have been organized to make it a fun filled family event.

The tournament will be conducted in six age categorizes, namely – under.14, under.16, 1st XI teams, 20 to 30, 30 to 40, 40 and over old boys age categories. This will be a very rare occasion where stickers of the three schools who are over forty will be turning the hands of the clock at this carnival.

The Peterite old boys’ teams walks in to this 5th edition of the tournament as champions of all 3 groups, and will try to defend their championship on home soil. In the schools arena, S. Thomas’ College will defend their 1st IX championship, whilst St. Peters College and Trinity College Kandy will defend their titles in the U16 and U 14 age groups respectively.

The opening ceremony will be graced by the Presidents and Senior Officials of the Old boys associations of all three schools along with decorated Peterite sportsman Dinesh Kakulthota. The event will commence at 8.am, whilst the closing ceremony and distribution of awards will be graced by special invitees, past coaches and priest Community of St Peters College lead by the Principal, Rector and Warden of the three schools commencing at 5 pm.
