Kanjipani Imran remanded over threatening police

The Colombo Chief Magistrate had ordered notorious drug dealer Mohommad Najim Mohammad Imran alias Kanjipani Imran to be remanded until September 20 over the threatening of a Police officer.

Kanjipani Imran had reportedly threatened the Police officer over the telephone.

Kanjipani Imran has already been jailed for six years in connection to the  possession and trafficking of 5.3Kgs of cannabis.

In March, Kanjipani Imran was deported from Dubai and detained by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

Imran had been arrested together with underworld leader Makandure Madush at a hotel in Dubai prior to his deportation.

He was later detained and further questioned under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).
