Chandrika Kumaratunga, Former President and one-time SLFP leader, has expressed her willingness to revitalize the party, founded by her father, S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike.
She has announced that she would revive the party, which, according to her, is being manipulated by other parties. She has conveyed her decision to party seniors, according to party sources.
The former president visited the SLFP headquarters, on Darley Road on Thursday, and met several seniors of the party and criticized the leaders who succeeded her for the present plight of the party.
Kumaratunga announced that she would commence a project to revitalise the party, starting from next Monday, and demanded that a separate office be allocated for her and her staff at the SLFP Headquarters with immediate effect.
Her demand had been conveyed to the party senior officials, sources said.
