The Japansese State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms Toshiko Abe met with Prime Minister ranil Wickremesinghe at Temple Trees today (12) and expressed Japan’s readiness to assist Sri Lanka in facing global terrorism.
It was discussed at the meeting that the security agreement scheduled to be signed between the two countries would be of immense importance to Sri lanka in facing global threats that seep into the country.
Wickremesinghe and Abe held bilaterial talks regarding the security of the country and the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Japanse State Foreign Minister for the assistance accorded to Sri Lanka.
The Prime Minister had also discussed the Anti-Terror plan to be jointly implemented by India, maldives and Sri Lanka. The Prime Minister and the visiting Japanse State Minister also discussed road development and other assistance to be accorded by India and Japan.
