International Education Expo 2019 held in Maldives

The Maldives International Education and Career Expo concluded on a grand scale on Saturday, March 2 at Dharubaaruge, Male’. The three-day event saw over 1,500 students and young adults visiting the exhibition. A total of 50 Institutes promoted various programs/courses at this event. Participated Institutes proudly encompassed not only from Sri Lanka but from India, Maldives, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany and Switzerland which made this event a ‘top-notch’ scale exhibition and the largest event in the Maldives.

The expo was held for three consecutive days from February 28 to March 2 in Male’. The event has been renowned as a focused education oriented exhibition, patronized by keen Maldivian students who have clear intentions on furthering their education in Sri Lanka or overseas. The exhibition was jointly organized by Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services together with Maldives Exhibition and Conference Services and Asaree Services Pvt. Ltd. This time the event was held in partnership with Private Higher Education Association of Maldives and with the cooperation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA).

The education institutes that participated offered numerous scholarships and discounts which paved the way for signing up and registering students. Furthermore, the event featured various seminars and workshops on important topics for students and graduates. Such as, 4 award winning chefs conducted a seminar on career opportunities in hospitality, workshop on Fashion Industry and special Industry specific seminars in Media, Medicine, and Fashion & Design.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan and Major General (Retd) A. B. Thoradeniya, High Commissioner of Sri Lankan High Commission in the Maldives. This year’s event was considered by all to be the largest education exhibition to be held in Male’.

A large percentage of those who visited the exhibition, made their future decisions from the options that were provided by the participating Institutes, making it a one stop shop for higher education options.
