KOICA’s Scholarship Program Information Session was held on February 26 at ‘Randora’ Hall in Ministry of Finance and Mass Media, attended by Kang Youn Hwa – KOICA Country Director, Ajith Abesekara – ERD Additional Director General and other 60 officers from Ministries and Departments.
The session was held to give an introduction to KOICA’s scholarship program to the officers and increase interest in application. The presentations of two recent graduates have increased the understanding of the session by sharing their master thesis and experience as KOICA scholars.
The KOICA’s master degree program is designed to nurture leaders who can contribute to their home countries, with the full scholarship support from KOICA. Since the first Sri Lankan Fellow in 2005, 93 government officers from Sri Lanka have received master’s degrees in their filed. This time, 17 courses are available ranging in five sectors, which are Governance, Rural Development Sector, Health, Technology and Environment & Energy and Education in 17 prestigious universities in Korea.
Since 1991, KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) has cooperated with the Government of Sri Lanka to carry out a variety of development cooperation programs with the aim of contributing to socio economic development of the island. The application submission will be closed on 8th of March at ERD.
